ESSEN - 29 September
Report from the gig in Essen: We met up with Pain Of Salvation, our opening act on this tour, and got them settled in on the tour bus. The gig at the Zeche Carl in Essen went pretty well, we did experience a few technical problems, but overall it was a good gig. Due to a time restraint, we didn't get the opportunity to play "Sirens", which is a shame. We were happy with the audience and they seemed to really love Rob's "special act" on "The Butterfly Man". Curious? Well, catch a gig!

A voice from the crowd, Dieter "Maus" Hansen:
Hallo Verglas! I think it's really cool to let the fans write their thoughts about the concerts and I want to give my opinion about the gig in Essen. I went there alone because noone of my friends like progressive musik :-( But I think I was in good company when I got to the venue. It was only Arenas second gig on this tour and I think they was still a bit nervous. Maybe I am selfish but I had hoped for a longer concert, but the songs they played was really cool. The little "butterflies" was great and "The Butterfly Man" was the best song. Maybe I was a little surprised that they started with "Moviedrome" but it was a good thing to do after all. The sound wasn't perfect and they had a couple of little "mistakes" (not Arenas fault I think?) but the musicsians played good. I bought a T-shirt from the tour because they looked very nice, a great memory!
Many thanks for a great evening, Maus
